Volvo Group will install a production plant in Monterrey after an investment of 700 mdd

Volvo Group chose Monterrey, Nuevo León, to install its new production plant, which will manufacture heavy trucks in 2026. This project represents an approximate investment of 700 million dollars and a generation of up to 2,000 direct jobs. will focus on assembly of conventional vehicles, production and painting of cabins.

According to the Swedish automotive company, the state has significant logistical advantages to access the southwest and west of the United States as well as all of Mexico and Latin America.

According to projections from the Cluster Industrial platform, the Volvo plant in Monterrey would be three times larger than the one in the State of Mexico.  Volvo (Edomex) has a main warehouse of 56 thousand square meters within a total land of 200 thousand m2, while the Ciénega de Flores warehouse will house 157 thousand 935 m2.

The governor of the state Samuel García, the director of Volvo Group Lars Johansson and Rafael Kisiel of Volvo Mexico, announced that construction is now a fact.
