Toyota Motors de México announced a new investment of 1.45 billion dollars in the country, according to its president Luis Lozano in a message made together with Marcelo Ebrard, secretary of economy through social networks.
This capital injection will allow the creation of more than 1,600 additional jobs in both plants by the end of 2024, consolidating Mexico as a strategic axis for the competitiveness of Toyota in North America.

The investment will strengthen the production of the Tacoma Pick Up truck and its electric hybrid version, models that are manufactured at the Baja California and Guanajuato plants.
1.114 billion dollars will be allocated to the Toyota Motors Manufacturing plant in Guanajuato, located in the municipality of Apaseo el Grande, which will create 450 new jobs in the factory, while the remaining amount will be allocated to improvements in the Baja California plant.

With this announcement, Toyota has accumulated more than 3 billion dollars invested in the country since it began operations 22 years ago, the company will generate nearly 6 thousand direct jobs and produces 300 thousand units annually, consolidating Mexico as one of its most important manufacturing centers in all of North America.
