The momentum generated by the public policy of the Jalisco Tech Hub Act supports the entity in attracting 20 to 30% of the more than 400 foreign companies that, according to various analysts, will arrive in Mexico as part of the relocation phenomenon, he expressed. the head of the Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco), Roberto Arechederra.

The head of Sedeco explained that from January to September of this year the entity completed 24 investment projects, and for the last quarter of the year Sedeco is working with an additional 17, of a total of 83 that the agency has followed up in 2023, although still cannot reveal the name of the companies for confidentiality reasons.

Meanwhile, of the 24 investments that were made in the first nine months of this year, seven correspond to the Information Technology (IT) sector; seven to the electronics industry; five to the food and beverage sector; two to the automotive industry; while the agribusiness, chemical and distribution centers attracted one investment project each.

Of the total projects, 10 correspond to companies that are establishing themselves for the first time in the state and 14 are expansions.

The head of Sedeco reiterated that, based on the projects that the agency has in the “pipeline” and the interest that foreign companies have shown in moving their operations to Jalisco, by 2023 they project to exceed 3,000 million dollars in FDI, since At the end of the first half of this year, the state attracted 1.39 billion in foreign capital.

Of that figure, the largest amount corresponded to manufacturing industries with 891.7 million dollars, followed by financial services with 281.7, accommodation and food preparation services with 116, construction with 47.9 and commerce with 46.6 million.
