Querétaro at the forefront of the request to declare the aerospace sector as a strategic industry
El Economista | July 15, 2021 |

Querétaro takes the step forward with the request to declare the aerospace sector as a strategic industry for the development of the state, with the aim of generating the bases to form a company with Mexican capital, according to Juan Carlos Corral, President of Aerocluster Querétaro.

This step seeks to recognize the aerospace industry as a sector with the potential to influence local and national economic reactivation. Another objective of this initiative is to solve the supply needs of the large companies that make up the sector and thus accelerate the development of the industry.

The original idea was raised at Hannover Messe 2018 by Governor Francisco Dominguez and was based on the capital formation base of both private business funds and PYMES interested in joining together as providers of the sector and where the mixed participation of the federal and state governments could be added.

The proposal also includes investment in talent training, through specialized training underpinned by strategies to achieve regional integration and the creation of supply chains between neighboring states.

Currently Aerocluster Querétaro reports to more than 70 members of industry, academia and government entities where 66% correspond to aeronautical companies, specialized in advanced manufacturing, maintenance, design and engineering and the remaining percentage are PYMES specialized in machining, special processes and plastic, as outlined in the original note.

In the period April-June 2021, the gross demand of the industrial market of Querétaro had a positive behavior registering a figure above 120 thousand square meters divided into 14 operations, driven by the development of tailor-made projects (BTS) of mainly technological and manufacturing companies seeking to establish themselves in this area of the Bajío.

The industrial market of Querétaro has an industrial offer varied in size and price of industrial buildings, as well as land with infrastructure to attract investment for the development of tailor-made projects, between one thousand and 25 thousand square meters.
