Current global working conditions have transformed the concept of work as something we do and not where we go.
However, the challenge facing the corporate office sector is to attract employees to innovative spaces that foster creativity and productivity in a safe work environment.
Considering that hybrid work is here to stay, companies have a renewed focus on what their workplace will look like in the future; the office will continue to be the center of the labor ecosystem, dedicating physical spaces to socialization, collaboration, face-to-face meetings and people management, and in general, to casual interactions that take place only in the physical space.
These interactions cannot happen in the same way through video conferencing or text messages, so the office of the future will have to be more humane, resilient and respectful of health.

However, to plan hybrid offices, companies must ask themselves specific questions that will help them define the reconversion of their spaces, for example: How is the work of the company carried out?
It helps to answer if only a part of the workforce can work from home or if it is a practice that all areas can do.
In both options, it is a fact that the company must provide necessary elements that ensure high performance of the employees, such as laptops, ergonomic chairs, stable Wi-Fi connections, among others.
Connectivity is vital to achieve constant communication with employees who work remotely, as well as on the part of the worker, the availability of being connected during working hours is important, as well as establishing limits, said Joselyn Gershberg, Project Manager JLL Mexico Senior.

“It's not just about reducing the space or evaluating it only based on the cost per person or per square meter. Rather, elements that add value to work dynamics should be considered, such as an adequate work environment. We must invest in an impact that improves the way in which the work will be carried out ”, comments Arturo Bañuelos, Executive Director of the Project Management and Development Division of JLL México.
Finally, questioning about a resilience plan for the future would ensure a good performance of activities as long as productivity and employee performance are taken into account in a hybrid model and the appropriate technology is available.
