The Mexican Association of Real Estate Fibras projects potential growth

Real estate investment trusts (Fibra) are in the initial stage of reaching their maximum potential within the real estate sector. Since the launch of the first Fibra, a total of 15 have been established, which together project a value of more than 400 million pesos.

Therefore, this year 2024 and the next are shaping up to be a period of growth for the Fibras, which after facing significant challenges during the pandemic and geopolitical conflicts, are beginning to show positive results and large incomes.

According to data from the study “Global REIT Approach to Real Estate Investing”, the exponential growth of Fibras, known internationally as REITs, is particularly higher in developing countries such as Mexico.

For their part, the Fibras in Mexico have maintained a sustained growth that together add up to 30 million square meters, of which 65% correspond to the industrial sector, and they also have more than 800 billion pesos in assets.

The Mexican Association of Real Estate Fibras (Amefibra), represents 15 diversified real estate fibras in the industrial, commercial, hotel, office, educational and self-storage sectors, which make up more than 4.5% of Mexico's gross domestic product (GDP).
