Automotive and manufacturing sectors ratify collaboration agreement in Mexico

The National Agency of Suppliers of the Automotive Sector (ANAPSA) and the Mexican Association of Machinery Distributors (AMDM) ratified their collaboration agreement to strengthen manufacturing in Mexico.

During the development of the event, the main indicators of the sector were highlighted, Mexico occupies the seventh place in the world in the production of light vehicles and the sixth in heavy vehicles.

In the manufacture of parts and components, the country is the fourth producer globally with an annual value of more than 120 million dollars, the sector generates more than one million direct jobs and represents 4.7% of the national GDP and 23% of the manufacturing GDP.

The sector has maintained an annual growth of between 15% and 20% in the last 5 years, driven by automotive production. It was stressed that technology and specialized service are important and key factors to sustain connectivity.

It was also highlighted that they will participate in the review of the T-MEC, highlighting that changes in the policies of the United States government will impact global supply and the manufacturing industry in Mexico. The two organizations agreed to promote and promote strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of the sector in a global context of changes in the supply chain and its regulation in the commercial field.
