The construction of the Essilor Luxottica plant, located in the city of Chihuahua, is 40% complete, according to data from the Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE).

Essilor is dedicated to the design, manufacture and distribution of materials for the manufacture of frames and lens glasses for various world-renowned brands.

The project is part of the first results obtained after the trade mission carried out in Europe and involves an investment of 170 million dollars that will generate more than 2,000 direct jobs in the region.

The Governor of Chihuahua, María Eugenia Campos, highlighted that this plant will take the transformation industry to the next level in Chihuahua, since it will be developed with a vision of the future, with automated processes and state-of-the-art technology; which translates into a highly technical company.

Chihuahua provided the company with the potential and conditions to put down roots in the north of the country and endorsed that the state administration works to the limit of its strength and capabilities in order to maintain favorable conditions for the industry and thus allow investments to yield big fruits.

For his part, Alessandro Trecanni, senior vice president of human resources for operations, logistics and distribution of Essilor Luxottica United States and Mexico, highlighted that the company is a leader in the production of ophthalmological lenses, as well as daily use lenses for renowned brands.
