Hand in hand with WeWork in collaboration with HSM (Brazilian consulting firm) and the support of Egon Zehnder based on its own methodology, the results of the study "Redesigning work models in Latin America" were presented.

These results correspond to a survey of more than 10,000 workers throughout the region, which reveals the new role that the workspace plays in the development of people and companies, reviewing how culture, purpose, work environments work, policies and benefits, among others, converge and transform.

“From now on the meetings will be more intentional and less spontaneous, but more meaningful. Leaders must take an exemplary role to create equal situations in hybrid work teams that ensure equal conditions for all, both remote teams and face-to-face teams,” said Álvaro Villar, general director of WeWork in Mexico.

The hybrid model appears with great advantage among those surveyed in the region. Mexicans prefer it by 85%, the same figure as in Argentina, similar to the 82% preference of Colombians and 76% of Brazilians.

Despite the evidence of the above, in Mexico, only 64% have access to this work format, the highest figure in the region compared to 30% in Argentina, 40% in Chile, 54% in Colombia. and 52% from Brazil.

The Mexican collaborator wants to return to the office, but not in the same way. The ideal balance between remote and office work is 3 days remote and 2 days in the office (45%), or 2 days remote and 3 days in the office (33%). 80% of those surveyed want to go to the office more than one day a week.

Although respondents show a general preference for the hybrid model (85%), WeWork sees a direct relationship between age and preference for face-to-face models, with those over 55 preferring face-to-face 3-4 times more than their younger counterparts .

WeWork understands hybrid work as a scheme that takes the best of two worlds, face-to-face collaboration and the advantages of digital connectivity over distance. Although he observes a general preference for a hybrid scheme, he also identifies the face-to-face and virtual reality aspects that make the difference for the respondents.
