This report also highlights the Agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC), as one of the great logistical strengths of Mexico.

From June last year, when the agreement came into force, until May, total trade (exports plus imports) between Mexico and its northern neighbor amounted to 557 thousand 785 million dollars, which represented an increase of 10% at a rate. annual (even in the middle of a pandemic), this according to data from the United States Census Bureau.
In addition to the T-MEC, other variables that have had a great impact on logistics operations in Mexico and that have forced companies in the sector to continue updating and even to attack new market niches, are the increase in e-commerce and new mobility needs derived from the pandemic.

“The issue of digital transformation was already present. However, this accelerated when the pandemic arrived, ”says José Antonio García, director of New Business Development at Onest Logistics, in an interview with RIM.

In this sense, adds the executive, the health crisis caused various logistics operations companies to start opening their e-commerce services much more.
Regarding the last mile and its growth, it is estimated that the companies that provide this service in Mexico will bill around 2.1 billion dollars at the end of 2021.
