In the first quarter of 2025, the Chinese-based company Yadea, a world leader in the manufacture of electric motorcycles, announced the construction of a new plant in the municipality of Ocoyoacac, with a projected investment of $78.6 million.
This facility could be completed in May 2025, according to Jia Zhong Wang, vice president of Yadea Group Holdings, who announced in 2024 that after the new plant is installed, the company plans to incorporate processes such as welding and painting, in order to ultimately relocate its Chinese suppliers to Mexico. Once this is completed, the possibility of establishing engine factories in our country will be evaluated.

One of the factors that triggered this decision is Mexico's demographics. With an average age of 29, the country has a large population of young people who are the main adopters of new forms of sustainable mobility.
Yadea already has a presence in Mexico through distributors in cities such as Guadalajara, Puebla, and some areas of Bajío, but is now looking to expand its offering of electric motorcycles and scooters throughout the country.
