Whirlpool invests 160 million dollars in expanding its Ramos Arizpe plant

Whirlpool invested more than 160 million dollars in the expansion of its plant located in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, with the aim of increasing its production capacity and generating around a thousand new direct jobs.

The works include the construction of a production line for more than 300 thousand French door refrigerators in an area of 34 thousand square meters.

"This refrigerator has a high demand and it is estimated that 90 to 95% of the production will be destined for export to the United States and Canada: and it will also be available to serve consumers in Mexico and Latin America," said the president of Whirlpool LAR Norte, Juan Carlos Puente.

With this investment, the company reinforces its commitment to the manufacturing industry in the country and seeks to take advantage of the export potential, as well as meet the needs of consumers in Mexico.

The president of Whirlpool LAR Norte assured that one of the strategies that the company has had since before Covid -19 is to continue believing in Mexican talent.

“Among the plans we have for the Latin American region, where Mexico is the second most important market, is strengthening its supply chain with a focus on local markets,” added the owner.
