Walmart de México y Centroamérica inaugurated its Villahermosa Perecederos Distribution Center, located in Tabasco, Mexico, with which the company plans to boost supply to 230 stores and clubs located in Campeche, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Veracruz and Yucatan.

According to Walmart, an investment of 2 billion pesos was required for the new distribution center, which will give access to more suppliers to bring fresh products to the southeastern region of Mexico, where the company distributes more than one million daily, boxes in its omnichannel shopping offer in its physical stores and digital platforms.
This construction will create about 1,200 direct and indirect jobs, which are part of the almost 4,000 jobs generated by the company in the state of Tabasco.

Likewise, the new distribution center addresses the objectives of Walmart Mexico and Central America in terms of sustainability, to become a regenerative company by the year 2040, for which it does not emit greenhouse gas emissions thanks to technological innovation in its cooling infrastructure.
With this opening, Walmart expands its omnichannel network with 21 Distribution Centers in Mexico and 11 in Central America.
