Volvo invests 700 million dollars in a new plant in Nuevo León

Volvo laid the first stone of its new plant in the municipality of Ciénega de Flores Nuevo León, it is a 127-hectare project, which will require a total investment of 70 million dollars.

The company Grupo Garza Ponce (GP) was selected to develop the complex, it should be noted that since the first half of October they already have the necessary permits from the state authorities for the start of construction.

According to the Swedish automotive manufacturer, the property will be used for the manufacture of heavy-duty vehicles for the Volvo and Mack brands, the plant is expected to begin operations in 2026, generating up to 2,500 direct jobs.
