To take advantage of the nearshoring trend during this 2023, the Government of Mexico City is preparing two strategies: generating tax incentives in Vallejo -one of the most important industrial zones in Mexico City- and supporting the establishment of corporations.
The head of the Secretariat for Economic Development (Sedeco), Fadlala Akabani Hneide, explained that a new project is being prepared that takes advantage of the relocation of supply chains and thus further promotes the recovery of the capital's economy.

The strategy that is developed focuses on two axes. The first is to generate tax incentives so that companies that come from Asia and seek to serve the US market settle in Vallejo, since the US has the highest per capita consumption in the world.
This point is accompanied by a package of actions to facilitate administrative processes for companies, particularly permits.
The second axis is to promote the establishment of corporations related to nearshoring in the country's capital, even if the industrial operations are located in another entity; The point is that the tax domicile is in the city.

"Regardless of where the companies are established, in any state of the Republic, here the corporate offices will always be established in Mexico City, and we are also serving them in this sense, to give all the facilities to the companies and find a place to be able to carry out their activities from Mexico City as the center of operation”, he reiterated.
The project of this initiative seeks to take advantage of the experience that the capital's government has with other sectors of the economy, since the city concentrates different types of corporations. The current environment occurs at the time when the arrival of companies, mainly Chinese, to Mexican territory is registered.
