Unilever seeks to expand its operations with an investment of 5,500 million pesos

The Unilever company announced this Thursday that it will invest 5.5 billion pesos (about $ 275 million dollars) to expand its four production plants in Mexico over the next three years.

The president of Unilever Mexico and North of Latin America, Reginaldo Ecclissato, reported that the investments will generate some 3,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The plants are located in Lerma and Tultitlán, State of Mexico; in Morelos and in Mexico City.

"This investment will allow us to grow production and increase exports of our products by around 20,000 million pesos (about 1,000 million dollars) in the next three years to our main commercial partners, which are the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Central America, South America and some European countries, "said Ecclissato, at a press conference at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy.

Exports derived from the productive expansion will go to the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America and some European countries.

On the other hand, Unilever will expand the manufacture of hygiene and personal care products, which will bring with it an innovation of the products offered in Mexico and Latin America.

Unilever Mexico is the key platform for the export of beauty and personal care products, since it exports to 26 countries in the world.
