Torre Designo received the 2021 American Architecture Award

The Italian studio Pininfarina, received the 2021 American Architecture Award for the Designo Tower, a community-oriented office building concept located in Bosque Real, Huixquilucan, State of Mexico; west of Mexico City.

The project was awarded at a ceremony organized by the Chicago Athenaeum, a private museum of architecture and design, based in Galena, Illinois.

The award ceremony was organized by the museum in collaboration with the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.

The project consists of two towers, built within the gated community that has approximately 6 million square meters. Both towers have 45 thousand m2 of multifunctional offices and a lower level for retail trade of 57 thousand m2.

The complex was designed to improve the lives of the people who will use the building and the surrounding communities.

In addition, Pininfarina seeks to unite functionality and aesthetics, especially at this crucial time for commercial real estate ”.

On the other hand, the Designo Tower will be part of an exhibition at the Chicago Athanaeum dedicated to the winning projects.

The Chicago Athenaeum announced the projects recognized in the American Architecture Awards 2021, with more than 130 projects recognized. These were selected from a list of more than 400 projects.

The list honors the best new architecture designed and built by US architects and by international architects with US offices.

The winners range from the new Felipe Angeles airport to a vernacular school for girls in Jaisalmer, India and Torre Designo.
