Timken Company, manufacturer of tapered roller bearings and power transmission material for the industry, could expand the operations of its plant in Guanajuato, as reported by Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, governor of the state.

The plant that the firm has in the state is the only one in Latin America and employs 220 people for the production of bearings, rails, lubrication systems, couplings and chains.

The governor highlighted that Guanajuato is promoting the process of transition from manufacturing to mental manufacturing, with what they seek to be the epicenter of Industry 4.0 in Mexico and Latin America.

With an investment of 90 million dollars, the Timken plant in San José Iturbide, Guanajuato, began construction in 2019 and production in December 2020. It is currently the only one that the firm has in Latin America.

In Guanajuato, the company has 220 employees for the production of bearings, rails, gear boxes, lubrication systems, couplings and chains.

In the last four years, 97 investment projects have been completed for 3 thousand 319.3 million dollars and 37 thousand 618 jobs committed in Guanajuato.
