Sumitomo Drive Technologies, a world leader in the supply of power transmission solutions, invested more than 12 million dollars in the construction of a new industrial plant in the municipality of Juárez, Nuevo León.
The facilities have an area of more than 15,790 square meters, and will be able to increase the jobs they provide by 20 percent.
The new plant is located in the GP Desarrollos Pocket Park Oriente Industrial Park. According to Gustavo Alonso Rodríguez, director of operations at Sumitomo Drive Technologies Monterrey, they will be dedicated to the manufacture of reducer components, assembly, design, engineering and everything that a power transmission project entails.

The manager reported that they invested in machining centers to manufacture product parts, shafts, bases and machining for the gearboxes that will be exported to the United States. 90% of its production will be for the national market and 10% will be exported.
“Japan is the second country that has invested the most in Nuevo León this year. That is why we are proud that companies like Sumitomo Drive Technologies see this state as an ally to grow their operations, while generating quality jobs,” said Iván Rivas, state Secretary of the Economy.
