Schneider Electric announced that it will build and equip three new manufacturing plants in North America, hiring more than 1,000 new employees to increase production and accelerate the delivery of electrical products to customers in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The company is currently evaluating locations in Santa Teresa, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas as a manufacturing hub in the United States. Schneider Electric's land in Tlaxcala, Mexico, will be used to build a new plant to expand its presence in that city.
On the other hand, the company is also evaluating existing buildings in Mexico City for renovation.

It also plans to begin construction and redevelopment before the end of 2021, with the ambition to increase its workforce to manufacture medium voltage circuit breakers, switchboards, panels and switchgear for use in data centers, infrastructure and homes for the purposes of 2022.
"Our future demands a more resilient and sustainable supply chain and that is exactly what we seek to deliver with this latest investment ... We are increasing capacity to minimize the risk of disruptions when unforeseen challenges occur and reduce lead times for the clients". said Annette Clayton, CEO and President of Schneider Electric North America.

Schneider Electric is also looking to shorten its regional supply chain, having approved more than 100 alternative suppliers and secured strategic purchases of industrially restricted raw materials to support increased demand and improve continuity of supply.
Schneider Electric's supply chain investments of more than $ 100 million in 202nd and 2021 will enable the company to build and equip new plants to increase manufacturing capacity.
