Centro Urbano | January 31, 2022 |

San Luis Potosí is a region strongly driven by the expansion of companies in the automotive industry, which increased their operations in the last quarter of the year, registering a gross demand of 52 thousand square meters, of which 44 thousand are custom-made projects. .

However, this turnaround was one of the most affected by the strong contraction that occurred in 2020 and the multiple effects on the supply chain worldwide. Despite this, at the end of 4Q2021, new constructions of BTS projects were completed for companies such as Continental, Mayco and Bend All.

Of interest: Querétaro demanded twice as much industrial space in 2021 as in 2020

Reaching an accumulated demand close to 229,000 m² is a reflection of the business activity and developers who bet on the Bajío market.

On the other hand, availability shows a wide range of spaces ranging from 2.5 thousand to 21.8 thousand square meters. Of which, they are mainly concentrated in submarktes such as San Luis de Potosí-Villa Arriaga and Zona Industrial San Luis de Potosí.

Likewise, in 4Q2021, 76 thousand m² were added to the inventory, of which about 59 thousand m² are occupied, due to their particularity of BTS projects. While the other 44,000 m² began construction in the last quarter and are projected to be fully occupied.

Similarly, the recovery of jobs in the region symbolizes the economic reactivation of the region. In addition to the fact that 80% of the products in Potosí lands are exported, which boosts the operation of companies.

Therefore, it is expected that in 2022 efforts will be focused on developing suppliers for the supply chains of large assemblers in the region.
