Samtech will expand its facilities in Guanajuato investing 19 million dollars

Samtech, a Japanese company specialized in forging technology for the production of gears for the automotive industry, announced that it will invest 19 million dollars in the expansion of its operations at its plant located in the Pilba Industrial Park, in León, Guanajuato.

The company arrived in León in 2017, with an initial investment of 27.9 million dollars and 60 direct jobs. With this, Samtech accumulated a total of 46.9 million dollars and 90 total direct jobs, manufacturing forged parts for fluid transport, high-precision cylinders, production of gears, bearing rings and high-pressure tanks for pneumatic applications.

According to exclusive information from Directorio Automotriz, the Samtech plant is located on a 39,800-square-meter piece of land, where they currently have a 5,500-square-meter plant with 8 hot forging lines of 3,000 tons for shaft and 1,200 tons for closed die. The current expansion includes land of 4 thousand 600 square meters.

Its main customers are J-TEKT, NSK and Mazda. “For us the plant in Mexico is very important, we are very happy to be able to make the investments. We will bring the latest technology from Japan and we hope that the factory in Mexico will become the best forging plant in the world”, declared the president of the company in Mexico.

The governor of Guanajuato, Rodríguez Vallejo, assured that the plant and its new expansion will meet the needs of its clients in Mexico, the United States, South America and Europe.
