Industrial activity picks up in Baja California

Industrial activity grew in Baja California 2.3% compared to the same period in 2021, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

The numbers showed that the state has been one of those with stable progress in the matter, since other entities such as Aguascalientes fell to 11.3%.

The manufacturing industry and construction remain the spearhead of the industry, with growth of 1.9 and 2.7%, respectively.

Compared to the previous month, there was a slight decline in industrial activity in the state, reporting a drop of (-)1%.

Specifically in Baja California, the Tijuana market, which due to its inventory size totals more than 7.9 million square meters, occupies the sixth position at the national level with a gross demand for industrial real estate of 129.3 thousand square meters, according to the Solili platform. .

Regarding the vacancy of the Baja California markets, the Tecate y Tijuana markets registered a vacancy at the end of the first quarter of 2022 of 0.6%, which represents the lowest percentage at the national level, together with Ciudad Juárez.
