In March, the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (Seduvi) published the "Guidelines for the Reconversion of Offices to Housing in Mexico City."
The document published in the Official Gazette of the CDMX indicates that some of the requirements that candidates for reconversion of offices must present are: Single Certificate of Land Use Zoning or Single Certificate of Digital Land Use; Certificate of accreditation of land use for acquired rights or Registration of manifestation of construction with authorization of use and occupation.

Additionally, the photographic report of the interior and exterior of the property is required that demonstrates functional obsolescence, disuse or abandonment, proof of property tax debts and rights for water supply and proof of ownership.
For Giovanni David Hernández Arana of Grupo Inmobiliario Orten, the possibility of reconverting offices into housing spaces is interesting, and he points out that, "for example, in the United States, offices have ceilings up to four meters or more high, so that in in the future they can be converted into parking lots or housing.”

Eduardo Machorro de Houm mentions that "it is not something easy to achieve, since spaces designed for offices are often difficult to reconvert due to issues of structure and hydraulic installations", but he gives the benefit of the doubt when commenting that "it is a option that large developers have to occupy these spaces”.
Opinions are still mixed, as there are those who affirm that the solution may be impractical, since the facilities are not adapted to these changes; although on the other hand, they mention that it will be optimal to be able to put these spaces to use, so that investors can have a return and not stay at zero.
