In addition, it stipulated that the reconversion will not have to be total and the developers will be able to keep 40% of its current use as an office.
The Historic Center polygon is included in other reactivation projects also linked to housing, while the intervention in Santa Fe covers 11 neighborhoods of Álvaro Obregón and Cuajimalpa, contemplated in the Partial Urban Development Program.
As for the Miguel Hidalgo mayor's office, the project covers four neighborhoods in Polanco, which are governed by its Partial Urban Development Program, made up of four office sectors: Anzures, Granadas, Lagos and Traditional.

For its part, the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing released a series of rules that must be followed by the owners of these empty corporate buildings. The first is that, once remodeled, they cannot be used for vacation purposes, that is, rented on platforms such as Airbnb.
The reason given by the secretary is that the goal will be to reduce the city's housing backlog and generate greater availability of affordable housing, without allowing the demolition of existing buildings or generating extra parking spaces.
Finally, the interior and exterior of the building, which is abandoned, will have to be demonstrated with photographs, where the General Directorate of Urban Planning will be responsible for operating and attending to the reconversion within the project.
