For years, Mexico has managed to attract the attention of international companies due to its workforce and production capacity, but as a result of the pandemic and the crisis experienced in global supply chains, its attractiveness increased considerably in the market. industry as its potential as a venue for the rearrangement of value chains becomes more evident.

One of the main factors that place our country in a favorable situation is its geographical location, since it is next to one of the most important markets in the world, which added to its trade agreements that exempt it from paying tariffs, make it the ideal destination for the installation or expansion of production plants.

Among the most recent examples, the one announced by the chemical-pharmaceutical company Bayer stands out, which a few days ago announced that it will make an annual investment of between 1,200 and 1,300 million pesos for three years for research and development.

Another of the most prominent cases is that of the largest beer importer in the United States, Constellation Brands, which could allocate up to 5.5 billion dollars in our country in order to ensure the future production of this drink. Although this project has not yet been confirmed, if it materializes it could represent the most important investment expected for this year.

The automotive industry has not been left behind, as the German company ZF Chassis Technology will make an investment of one billion pesos to expand its operations in Toluca, State of Mexico.

For its part, Grupo Bosch announced that it will invest more than 5,200 million pesos for the construction of a new plant for the manufacture of refrigerators, which will be located in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

The Ternium steel company will also inject capital into our country. According to the investment program announced at the end of last month, the company will allocate 1,000 million dollars to its industrial engineering center located in Pesquería, Nuevo León, in order to expand its portfolio of value-added products and meet the demand for steel. of the electrical appliance and construction sectors.
