In the framework of the Monterrey 2021 Summit, the representative of the businessmen highlighted that in 2021, the industry has maintained the positive inertia that was observed in 2020.
The sector has undoubtedly shown great resilience after the impact of the pandemic, and despite the uncertainty, the sector went ahead, and even in terms of placement at the end of 2020 it only registered a decrease of 1.2% compared to what was seen in 2019.
In the first semester of 2021, the housing supply in the RUV has grown 30%, demonstrating the confidence that industrialists have in the country to continue generating jobs and well-being.

“The numbers that Infonavit has shared with us are extraordinary: in the first semester, the new home is 14% above its goals; and 28% in existing housing, above your goals. The banks have also shared extraordinary data with us, where the amount of credit is almost 51% higher; in placement they go 31% or 32% higher ”, he pointed out.
Méndez Dávalos assured that the housing industry has positioned itself as one of the engines that has allowed the advance of the Mexican economy in the context of the recovery. He added that this sector is one of the few that shows growth despite the challenging environment that still arises due to the contingency.
