The first phase of the Arco Norte Logistics Platform (PLAN) of the Port of Liverpool started.
For this, the logistics warehouse, located in Jilotepec, State of Mexico, had an investment of 8,400 million pesos and generates more than 3,700 jobs and according to Gerardo Rangel, Plan Logistics Director, the warehouse is focused on Big Ticket merchandise, from high-volume items delivered to homes, so its opening has allowed the company to increase its reception capacity.
The manager explained that PLAN has tripled the capacity they had in the distribution center located in Huehuetoca, with 2.5 times more merchandise, so we can supply twice as many customers in the same day, in storage and distribution of merchandise, mainly in this season close to the Good End.

It should be noted that PLAN is designed under a commitment to sustainability, adhering to the LEED certification criteria, since it will operate with neutrality in water consumption, CO2 emissions and responsible waste management.
Among its main achievements are: the collection of rainwater that will cover all the needs of its operation, implementation of systems that allow avoiding the generation of 1,190t. of CO2 per year and recycle more than 3,000t. annual cardboard.
As well as a biodigester with the capacity to process 545 kg of waste per day and an electrical system that reports annual savings in electricity consumption of more than 900,000 kWh, equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 200 homes, among others.
“PLAN as a whole is governed by the principles of: flexibility, scalability and sustainability, essential characteristics in its operation, which will allow the complex to grow and adapt to the needs of the business in the long term”, explained Gerardo Rangel.

The project, announced in 2018, has a total area of 195 hectares, in which it houses the first ship already in operation, of 226 thousand square meters, and in which more will be developed in the coming years, with an investment amount of 25 billion pesos, of which 8,400 million pesos were used in the first phase.
While the second warehouse is already under development and is expected to start operations in 2024. It will be used for softline merchandise, that is, clothing, footwear and accessories.
