From March to August of this year, Nuevo León confirmed 47 Foreign Direct Investment projects that could generate more than 20 thousand new jobs with an investment of 958 million dollars.
Half of these projects come from the United States, followed by China, and Germany.
The Investment Director of the Ministry of Economy and Labor Anabell Flores explained that there are 26 new projects, of which 16 are businesses that remain confidential. In addition, 21 expansion projects are included.
The new companies that have chosen Nuevo León as an investment site are Aeroplast, Junma Benteng, ZF Group, Xtend OPS, Shandong Weida Machinery, Orchata, Globant, Etron, Everite and Namyang Nexmo.
According to Flores, some of these projects belong to the automotive industry, particularly for electric and autonomous vehicles.

“Many of these suppliers to the automotive industry are suppliers of autonomous and electrified vehicles like Tesla, we are attracting many suppliers from Tesla, all these suppliers that your Austin plant is going to need and many of these are already from those suppliers that are in final negotiations ”, he detailed.
Regarding the expansion projects, the state official explained that they are the companies Mattel, Thermofischer, Jabil, Kuka Home, Dana, Tenere, Sumitomo Drive Technologies, Güntner, US Motor Works, Paulo, Zurn, Southerland, Whirlpool, Welbilt , The Home Depot and Mercedes Benz Buses.
Additionally, there are five more projects that remain confidential.
The Investment Director explained that only last year, Thermofischer had announced the construction of the second industrial warehouse and they already decided to go for the third.

"This expansion will create 2,500 new jobs and these products that they manufacture are used to test Covid and other medical laboratory objects," he said.
Whirlpool decided to invest more than 15 million dollars to expand its plant in the municipality of Apodaca; while The Home Depot will open two new stores, one in Monterrey and the other in Apodaca, which will create around 200 jobs.
"Mercedes Benz, are preparing an assembly line for the introduction of new technology in their plant in Garcia, this is also very important, especially due to the efforts to be in this wave of Industry 4.0", reported Anabell Flores.
Lorenzo Aguilar Camelo, Undersecretary of Investment and Industrial Development of the Ministry of Economy and Labor explained that during the entire administration of Nuevo León, 383 foreign investment projects from 29 countries were established, generating more than 100,000 jobs.
"The trend is towards intelligent mobility, electric mobility and industry 4.0, to achieve the objective of achieving these 369 projects it is important to have the cooperation of the entire industrial ecosystem," he said.
