Nestlé will invest 2,550 million pesos to modernize the Carnation and Gerber plants installed in the entity.

Within the framework of the 75th anniversary of the Carnation plant, in the capital of Querétaro, the executive president of Nestlé in Mexico, Fausto Costa, highlighted that part of this investment will be used for digital transformation systems; In addition, he stated that with this project the company reaffirms its confidence in the entity.

"New tools so that all collaborators can do their work much better and that we are always a modern, state-of-the-art industry, with the best quality and the best technology," said the director of the Swiss-born company, dedicated to the production of foods.

The Carnation plant produces 223,000 tons per year in the entity, for the domestic and international market. For now, it employs 482 people, 41% are women.

During the investment announcement, the governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, said that the investment project is a reflection of the firm's interest in promoting new technologies and implementing water and energy saving systems, paying for the reduction of emissions. of CO2, with the aim of reaching zero emissions by 2050.

With this announcement, the entity accumulated 36 investments made in 2022, representing capital of 17,860 million pesos and involving the creation of 10,124 jobs, the Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, added.

Meanwhile, he added that the food industry is the third largest contributor to the state's manufacturing production value; In addition, during the first half of the year this sector produced 29,199 million pesos, reporting an annual growth of 13 percent.
