The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a huge global economic upheaval, causing severe recessions in many countries.

After an estimated 3.3% drop in 2020, one of the deepest global recessions in history, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects the global economy to grow 6% in 2021, then moderating the trend to 4.4% in 2022 .

Mexico's attraction to capital flows has been maintained, with 11.864 million dollars of net FDI inflows in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 14.8% and the highest amount for a first quarter.

The flows were concentrated in the reinvestment of profits, although the subsequent adjustment of the figures could modify this result, and came from 1,872 companies with participation of foreign capital; 883 trust contracts; and nine foreign legal entities.
