Mercado Libre invests more than 3 billion dollars in Mexico

The international company Mercado Libre announced today a historic investment of 3.4 billion dollars in Mexico for this 2025, the company that specializes in electronic commerce and financial services in Latin America, made the capital injection that represents an increase of 40% compared to 2024.

The investment will be mainly destined to improve its current operations, innovate technology and artificial intelligence as well as expand its logistics capacity, the creation of 10 thousand new jobs in the logistics, financial technology and administration areas is also contemplated.

With this investment, Mercado Libre reaffirms its commitment to the economic and technological development of Mexico, consolidating itself as a leader in the electronic commerce and financial services sector in the region.

The company's interest became evident in 2021, when it allocated 1.1 billion dollars to double the capacity of its storage centers, strengthen the logistics network and expand digital payment and credit solutions through Mercado Pago and Mercado Crédito.

This trend continued for 2024, when Mercado Libre announced its largest investment to date of 2.45 billion dollars. This sum has been aimed at expanding its logistics infrastructure, improving the ability to deliver quickly and consolidating fintech solutions.
