During 2021, several companies were interested in investing in Coahuila. According to the information compiled with the developers of industrial parks and brokers, it is estimated that around 29 companies signed a real estate contract, of which nine are new to the entity and 20 grew their operations.
Among the new companies that chose Coahuila to install a plant, the Chinese capital company Longda Plastics stands out, which will invest around 10 million dollars to create its plant in the Amistad Ramos Arizpe Industrial Park, from where it will manufacture blown plastic parts for the automotive and other industries.

NYX Plastics is another of the companies that will have a presence for the first time in Coahuila.
The company allocated an amount of 25 million dollars for the installation of its industrial warehouse in Arteaga Industrial Park II, from where it will manufacture auto parts for the Tesla company that will be located in Texas, as well as for General Motors in Ramos Arizpe, which it will support in the project for the manufacture of electric cars.
For José Luis Benítez, from Grupo Amistad, the availability and preparation of its workforce, its proximity to the USMCA corridor (less than 300 kilometers from Laredo), its quality of life for expatriates and their workers, and the facilities and openness of the state government to support companies and developers at the time of closure, are key factors for the arrival of new investments in Coahuila.
According to the specialist in industrial real estate, despite the pandemic, 2021 was a historic year for Coahuila, especially for the Saltillo metropolitan area.
“2021 had a strong rebound and the arrival of new companies in the region, as well as important expansions. In this area alone, the year closed with close to 4 million square feet, of which Amistad contributed close to 38% of said contract signatures”, he commented.

Benítez added that Ramos Arizpe continues to be a highly competitive and interesting market for new investments.
"I consider that it is one of the most important areas of the State as it is part of the USMCA corridor and its proximity to the Monterrey metropolitan area," he said.
The specialist on the subject pointed out that despite the doubts about the pandemic and its different variants, as well as the new challenges that may arise, it is expected that 2022 will be just as profitable as the year that was left behind.
“2021 left us with a very healthy and interesting pipeline. The arrival of Chinese capital is inevitable and there are more and more business opportunities for all developers with companies from this country, coupled with the nearshoring of companies seeking to relocate their operations in Mexico.”
