The Mexican automotive industry recorded an outstanding September 2024 in production and export of light vehicles, according to the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA) with data from the Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
During the month, 378,583 units were produced, which represented an increase of 11.7% compared to September 2023, and for the first time in history, cumulative production from January to September exceeded 3 million units, which marks an important milestone for the industry.

Regarding exports, 315,706 units were reached, which represented a growth of 4.8% compared to September of the previous year, in the annual accumulation until September 2024, vehicle exports showed an increase of 7.0% confirming the strength of the sector in the international arena.
On the other hand, domestic sales of light vehicles in September 2024 reached 116,543 units, which represented a slight decrease of 1.4% compared to the same month in 2023.

These results confirm the beginning of a new stage of expansion for the Mexican Automotive Industry. If this pace is maintained, it is likely that new historical highs in production and export will be reached by the end of 2024.
