Cluster Industrial | August 24, 2022 |

In recent years, the need to optimize industrial processes has been one of the main interests of companies in Mexico.

According to internal data from Panduit, a manufacturer of physical, electrical, network and AV infrastructure solutions for business environments, so far in 2022 there has been an increase in requests for information for the digital transformation of the industry of more than 45%, compared to the same period in 2021.

However, there is still a long way to go to reach the apogee of the fourth industrial revolution.

'One of the challenges that the industrial sector has faced to carry out its digital transformation has to do with the limited information that is provided around the practice, that is, the implementation and integration of solutions: the stages that exist in the process and the times to develop them,” says Jorge Bleizeffer, commercial manager of Panduit for the north, west and Pacific zones of Mexico.

At the "Connected Industry" Roadshow event held on August 11 in León, Guanajuato, topics such as intelligent manufacturing, data cybersecurity, Edge computing, IT-OT convergence, sustainability, control systems, and automation were addressed.

According to INEGI data, in 2021 industrial production in Mexico rebounded 6.5% compared to 2020, the year in which there was a sudden closure of activities due to the pandemic, which brought with it a 10% drop in production.

On the other hand, the figures for June 2022 indicate that the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity had a growth of 3.8% in real terms during that month, showing an upward trend that is increasingly closer to the levels obtained in 2019.

Regarding the digital transformation of the industry in Mexico, according to data from LNS Research, 29% of companies have digital transformation programs in pilot phases, while 16% have already implemented their digital transformation according to their objectives.

The Connected Industry Roadshow will tour the cities of Tijuana on August 25 and Ciudad Juárez on September 1 in order to support the Mexican industry on the road to its digital transformation. For more information about this event, you can visit Connected Industry.
