The Swiss company SIG invests more than 1,600 million pesos in Querétaro

The Swiss company SIG will invest more than 1.6 billion pesos in the construction of its new one located in the municipality of Colón, in the Aerotech Industrial Park, on an area of 85 thousand square meters.

This decision to establish itself there is due to the "sustainable growth of the region and the development conditions of the state, which is why it was decided to establish this new plant in Querétaro."

According to a statement issued by SIG, this space will generate more than 200 direct jobs in the multilayer packaging industry, within the food sector.

Ricardo Rodríguez, president of the Americas region for SIG, mentioned that the project will allow serving North American clients more quickly and efficiently.

In addition, it will drive growth in the region, while demonstrating the group's commitment to the highest environmental standards.

The Governor of the state, Mauricio Kuri González, thanked the company for laying the first stone for trusting the entity to open its first plant in North America.

For his part, the Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce of the Ministry of Economy, Héctor Guerrero Herrera, celebrated the decision of the SIG firm to settle in Querétaro.

Likewise, he expressed that said action reflects the confidence of the Swiss firm to invest in the country that is distinguished by being attractive for investment due to its talent and workforce.

According to information from the North America Cluster for SIG, Eduardo Gatica, the operation will start in two years, that is, in 2023.
