Jabil carried out the laying of the first stone of its third production plant in the city of Chihuahua, the fifth in the state.

To carry out the construction of this property, the electronic device company will invest 336 million dollars, of which 106 million dollars will be for infrastructure and 230 million dollars for the acquisition of machinery.

The property will be a space of 250 thousand square feet, the directors project that it will be in operation in April 2023.

Maru Campos, Governor of Chihuahua, indicated that this investment opens a new chapter in the history of collaboration between Jabil and the entity. He also recalled that for 20 years, the company has accompanied Chihuahua in a "success" story and the proof of this is the construction of its fifth plant in the region.

For his part, Ramón Sánchez, director of operations for Jabil Chihuahua, explained that the company has a well-established footprint in northern Mexico. He recalled that the first plant of the consortium opened its doors in 2000.

The governor informed that the company foresees the creation of eight thousand new jobs in the following five years.

"Without a doubt it is a great achievement that Chihuahua as a state and capital has this large number of manufacturing plants, it means that the world knows the potential, talent and skills of Chihuahuas," said Maru Campos.

He added that due to the talent trained in the state, the arrival of companies has been possible, this has positioned Chihuahua as "the national leader in maquiladora employment in Mexico."

Meanwhile, Ramón Sánchez mentioned that due to the location, capabilities and talent of the entity's people, this has allowed them to have a highly qualified workforce in the region.
