The American manufacturing services company Jabil will invest close to 100 million dollars in Mexico in order to boost the growth of its operations by up to 20% in national territory.

Said amount will be injected into our country within a period of five years and with it it is expected to improve the level of digitization, automation and human capital that the firm has in its facilities in Chihuahua, Ciudad Juárez, Durango, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana, these are the three Jabil plants with the highest capital injection.

To this end, among the company's plans is the strengthening of links with universities to attract new talent through the development of career plans that prepare students for the manufacturing environment.

In this sense, the Guadalajara site is one of the most important, since it has the Regional Automation Center, in which young people are given the opportunity to create ideas for the industry and make them come true.

Jabil's facilities in Guadalajara are among the three most important for the firm, surpassed only by two plants in China.

According to members of the firm, the decision to invest in Mexico responds to the reconfiguration of value chains that is taking place worldwide and that places our country as an increasingly attractive destination for nearshoring.

This is due to the fact that Mexico has a geographical location that allows it to be reached by the Atlantic and the Pacific, in addition, it has access to the United States and Central America by land.

With nearly 100 sites spread across 30 countries, Jabil seeks to be a more technologically advanced and reliable provider of manufacturing solutions.
