The Mexican shoal has shown its ability to differentiate itself and position itself in a country with ample investment options, competing with the northern zone, which has capitalized on the preference of demand over the last two years.
In the Bajío we know of the wide predominance of manufacturing that has made Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí y Aguascalientes the reference automotive centers in the country, which have underpinned the development of supply chains in all components of the process.
While Querétaro has stood out in recent years for the predominance of aerospace manufacturing, which although American capital predominates, Europe also stands out with an important portion of the investment.
This vocation has been assimilated by the authorities of the governments of Querétaro and Guanajuato who have seen the potential of approaching the headquarters of various industries and transmitting to them directly the benefits of the shoal.
Querétaro has already announced as a result of its last tour during the first quarter of 2022 that it manages to attract 12 projects to the entity that come from Europe, specifically from Spain, France and Switzerland.

The aerospace company Safran in France, the global food giant Nestlé based in Switzerland, and aerospace companies are already moving forward with the intention of expanding operations in Querétaro.
Another important development focus is the gearing of the circular economy and assembling mechanisms to promote dual education, which provide the necessary human and supply resources to successfully guarantee the investment.
Swiss companies that do not have operations in Mexico are also consolidating their interest in the country to enter the North American market, given its proximity to the United States.
For their part, the authorities of Guanajuato culminated their last tour in September 2021 where they had finalized 446 million dollars in investment where European companies from Switzerland, Italy, France, Austria and Germany agreed to their presence in the entity with projects that would be in execution during the 2022.
In February 2022, the Mexican Metalsa laid the first stone of its investment project estimated at 170 million dollars to supply Toyota, being the only one of the Mexican tier 1 of automotive structures outside the north of the country and that will be built especially to provide the chassis of the next generation of the Tacoma model assembled in Guanajuato and Baja California.

At the end of March 2022, the French company Michelin announced the expansion of phases 2 and 3 over part of the 122 hectares it owns in the PILBA Industrial Park. Phase 2 would be beginning to be built and would advance on 24 hectares destined for it, where the investment amount will soon be announced.
Another entity that is not far behind is Aguascalientes, which seeks to differentiate itself at the forefront of the mobility transition in the Mexican automotive sector. The effort revolves around changing from a linear model to a circular model; in which it can be extracted, produced, consumed, reused and recycled.
In general, the Bajío will continue with its proactive work towards the old European continent, creating the conditions for these countries to position their productions in the American continent.
