Infonavit plans to place 596 thousand loans in 2022, 14.2% more than in 2021

In 2020 the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) will launch new credit schemes and products, for the benefit of workers.

Infonavit projects the placement of 595,948 loans during 2022, which represents an increase of 14.2% compared to what is estimated for the end of 2021.

Said amount will be mainly concentrated in 55% in Line II of Home Acquisition and 43% in Line IV of Improvements and Expansions, and the remaining percentage in other construction programs and payment of liabilities.

Of these loans, it is expected that the granting of loans for beneficiaries with incomes of up to 5.8 UMAs will represent 71.1% of the total placement; this is 390,740 credits.

55% of the loans for the acquisition of new homes are projected based on the trajectory and behavior of the construction activity.

Finally, the Institute indicated that the expected credit spill for 2022 is 254.123 million pesos; of which 74% will be funded by Infonavit and 26% by other entities.

Carlos Martínez Velázquez, general director of Infonavit, announced that for 2022 the launch of five new products is being prepared, for the benefit of workers, including the acquisition of land for the construction of housing, refinancing of loans, payment of liabilities and self-production, expansion and improvement of the home.

The program for Acquisition of residential land will be launched in March 2022, so that the right holders can acquire land to build their home.

The Refinancing of loans, contemplates its beginning in the second quarter of 2022 and will allow borrowers who are paying a mortgage loan, access a second financing to make improvements or adjustments to their home.

The third quarter of 2022 is expected to launch the Liability Payment scheme, with which borrowers will be able to pay the liabilities acquired both with Infonavit and with other banking institutions.

Self-production of housing is also expected for the third quarter of 2022 and here the Institute will expand the funding options for self-production of housing; In order to consider Infonavit resources and generate a joint solution to the ConstruYo program.

Finally, due to the Expansion, repair and improvement scheme that estimates its start-up during the second half of 2022, it will be funded with Infonavit's own resources, with which it is expected to improve the conditions of the Mejoravit program.
