The economy of Mexico linked its third month of growth after advancing 25.3% during May compared to the same month of the previous year, a time that was full closure of activities due to COVID-19, according to the seasonally adjusted figures of the Global Economic Activity Indicator (IGAE).
In the reference month, secondary activities increased 36.6% in their annual comparison, while those corresponding to primary and tertiary activities did so by 10% and 21.6%, respectively.

According to the report, May is the month where the country's economy has grown the most after surpassing the activity in March and April with 0.5% and 21.5%, respectively. Similarly, the main activities also reflected the largest increase so far this year.
Compared to the immediate previous month, the IGAE reported a 0.6% growth, for which it added three consecutive months of monthly advances, with 2.7% in March and 0.2% in April.
By components, primary activities took off 8.4% after suffering a monthly drop of 3.2% in April.

Secondary activities also recovered from a 0.3% decline last April, reporting 0.1% growth.
While those corresponding to the tertiary sector spun their third consecutive month of growth after advancing 0.8% during May.
