The construction industry showed an acceleration in the month of March, after the monthly construction that was reported in February, obtaining a growth of 10.7%, according to information from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), in March the construction sector rose 2.2%.

With original figures, in March the construction industry grew 5.7% compared to the same month last year, driven by civil engineering works that rose 38.7% at an annual rate.

The two fundamental elements that continue to be the driving force behind the sector are the strategic infrastructure works of the federal government and the effort to finish them before the Lopez Obrador administration ends, as well as the construction of industrial parks driven by the growing arrival from nearshoring to the country.

However, the dynamism in the construction of industrial spaces could provide some support, noting that in the period between March 15 and April 15 alone, the Ministry of Economy registered investment announcements for an additional 4.6 million dollars.
