Harting Technology Group, installed in Guanajuato Puerto Interior, inaugurated this Monday its first expansion where 283 specialized work spaces will be offered by the end of 2023, on an area of 4,300 m2 of production.
The German firm develops and manufactures connectivity solutions; At its plant in Mexico, it produces and assembles overmolded cables and cable harnesses, estimating an investment of 377 million pesos by the end of the year, which will allow it to meet the demand of Bombardier, Siemens, General Electric and Microsoft.

Florian Stützel, COO of Harting North America, reminded the attendees that this project began in 2016 with 50 collaborators and currently there are more than 250, which has been achieved with the development of its local partners.
These new facilities mean for the company a commitment to the increase of specialized work spaces, due to the great expectations for new businesses in the manufacture of mobility components in the region and in the world.
He said that there are plans for this plant in Mexico by 2027, since he considered that the investment was made based on future business, so they opted for this medium-term strategy.

The process to distribute the production in the plant will consist of transferring the overmolding process in other future expansions, for now it will be by modules, the first of them will be carried out in this expansion and the rest will be carried out in a second and third module.
Well, in addition, he explained that they will have a future investment of more than 21% in the e-mobility line and will invest in the short term in digitization and automation for all production lines, in order to have a data-based plant.
