Exports in Guanajuato began the year with a historical figure of more than 7 billion dollars, in the first quarter of 2022. And this growth in Guanajuato exports continues in the period from January to June 2022; The Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE), announces the new figures that correspond to the semester of the current year, which achieved an increase of 12.5% compared to the same period in 2021.

According to figures updated by the INEGI, this growth (12.5%) corresponds to the period from January to June 2022, and Guanajuato managed to export the figure of 15,086 million dollars, which makes the state continue in the sixth position among the exporting entities of Mexico, and the first place in terms of states without borders with other countries.

Guanajuato managed to reach more than 140 international destinations to deliver its products and services, in addition to having 35 exporting municipalities that generate more than 160,000 jobs for the entity.

Also, in terms of exports from the agri-food sector, we continue to be the number one entity with a figure of more than 866 million dollars, which reached an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year. This industry represents 6% of the total exports of Guanajuato.

In addition, in this first semester of 2022, Guanajuato's exports registered that the sectors with the highest growth from January to June 2022 were: machinery and equipment for industries in general with 100%, textile supplies and finishes with 64%, and basic metal industries with 55%.
