Government will promote real estate development in Mexico City

Entrepreneurs from the Association of Real Estate Developers (ADI), the Corazón Capital Association, the National Chamber of Commerce (Canaco) and the Mexican Business Council met with the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to advance in issues of real estate development in the capital.

After a private meeting, and when asked about the possible change in land use in various parts of the CDMX, Sheinbaum acknowledged that she is considering herself.

“In some cases it requires a change in land use and in other cases it does not; There are many powers that the Local Executive has, which I have as Head of Government and the idea is precisely at this time of economic reactivation –which is where these powers can be used–, so that all these procedures can be reduced and this process can be started. process".

For this, Sheinbaum said, it is also contemplated to promote tourism and the improvement of various procedures to boost the economy:

“The issue is how we continue to reactivate the economy of the city, how we already leave the closures of economic activities, and we go to a process in which the number of vaccinated increases (..) Today it is essential to reactivate employment in Mexico City and educational, social, cultural activities –not only economic ones– (…) we made a series of agreements, it is a first meeting; an issue that continues to be fundamental is the issue of various procedures that exist in the city that, even though they have decreased significantly, still represent some problems ”.

Regarding the new urban corridors in CDMX, she added that she "is going to work with the Planning Institute - which already exists - so that, in a very short term, they can also be strengthened."

As it will be recalled, since 2019 the government of Claudia Sheinbaum had proposed the realization of 12 submarkets to promote the construction of new homes with prices of 450,000 to 1,120,000 pesos.
