A collaboration agreement was signed between the National Tourism Promotion Fund (Fonatur) and the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States (Concamin), to promote investment in the industrial development of southeast Mexico .
This alliance has the objective of establishing collaboration mechanisms to carry out promotional projects, activities and programs in the country and abroad to attract investment to the industrial sector. The program will focus on the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and the Southeast of the country, including the 5 states where the Mayan Train will pass.
Rogelio Jiménez Pons, general director of Fonatur, highlighted that the Mayan Train project seeks to transform a territory through infrastructure actions. And he established that it will not only boost the tourism sector, since it also has cargo transport among its objectives.

For his part, Manuel Pérez Cárdenas, head of the office of the presidency in Concamin, explained that the private sector and the public sector joined forces to promote the development of the south-southeast through the Oaxaca Pact. As a result, the development of a portfolio of between 36 and 41 projects with investment potential is carried out, which would represent between 90 and 100 billion pesos of investment.
These actions are part of the Oaxaca Pact, which seeks to detonate development through the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure. To this, the Federal Government and the 9 state governments that make up the region also joined: Oaxaca, Campeche, Chiapas, Guerrero, Puebla, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Veracruz and Yucatán.
