Flex Américas will invest 100 million dollars in Tamaulipas until 2023

Sergio Gustavo Álvarez Pérez, director of administration, human resources and legal at Flex Américas, Films division, explained that one of these projects consists of the construction, during 2022, of two coating lines, a process that allows a special coating to be given to the film. for certain products requested by customers. It is estimated that these two lines have a measure of 5 thousand square meters.

Another production line contemplated to start the new building, also in 2022, is that of CPP and covers 10 thousand square meters. This is a wider product and is used for other types of adjustments, such as packing laptop screens; It is no longer a product merely to store food.

The third project is a Bioriented Polypropylene (BOPP) production line, which will begin construction in 2023 and will cover 15,000 square meters.

These projects would be carried out on the same land where the operations plant is currently located and with this they would occupy 100% of the capacity of the 150,000 square meters that they have in the Altamira Industrial Park, and they expect to generate about 500 indirect jobs and 300 jobs. direct.

In terms of specialized human talent, at Flex Américas most of the staff has the profession of chemical engineering, industrial engineering or mechanics, since they are the careers most aligned with the company's line of business.

This company began operations just in April 2009, with only one line of operation and 110 employees, today it is made up of 569 people.

Globally, the group is called UFlex, and Flex Américas belongs to the film division, which, in turn, has a presence in the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Hungary, Poland, Egypt, the US, Mexico and India.

"As we export to the US, Canada, Central and South America by ship, and in turn, receive raw material by ship, it is a strategic point to be in the Port of Altamira," explained Sergio Álvarez Pérez.

In relation to manufacturing capacity, Flex Américas produces 5,800 tons of finished product per month and the export percentage is 80%.
