Ferrero expands operations in Guanajuato and invests 50 million dollars

Ferrero de México announced that it will start expanding its plant in Guanajuato in the second half of 2023 with an investment of around 50 million dollars and it is part of a company plan that is worth around 75.3 million dollars until 2024.

It involves the addition of a new production line and a storage center of around 14,000 square meters on a 24,000 square meter plot of land.

With this improvement in the production line, products such as Kinder Chocolate and Kinder Maxi will be produced with high quality control over the raw material and the technology used in automation, according to the company.

Paolo Cornero, General Director of Ferrero de México y Centroamérica, stressed that this investment demonstrates the trust that the company has in the country and in Guanajuato.

“We are united by the warmth of the people, the cultural and gastronomic ties. We have been in Mexico for 30 years with Kinder Surprise and they have won the hearts of Mexicans,” said the director in an announcement that is part of the company's celebrations for its 30 years in the country.

Ferrero de México has invested 223.7 million dollars in the country between 2011 and 2018, generating around 2,200 direct jobs and 1,665 indirect jobs through national suppliers and partners.

The Ferrero plant in Mexico currently produces 42,500 tons of chocolate per year, which generates an annual operation of 9,429 million pesos. 40% of the plant's production is used for export to Canada, the United States and Central America.

The governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, attended the announcement and thanked Ferrero de México for its loyalty to the state.

He affirmed that the expansion of the chocolate company is a reflection of the confidence in its administration and in its work team, which continues to attract investments.

The official commented that so far in his administration, around 3,200 million dollars of a six-year goal of 5,000 million dollars have been raised.
