Sergio Argüelles, president of the Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP), assured that a hundred companies, mainly from Asia and the United States, have come to Mexico in search of markets closer to their consumers.
The arrival of Asian and American companies can be seen in the demand for industrial spaces nationwide that seeks to minimize the impacts of the logistics crisis.
added the president and CEO of Finsa.
At least 41% of the companies interested in settling in Mexico are from the United States, 14% are Mexican companies and 8% are Chinese firms, the businessman detailed during the first meeting of AMPIP partners.
60% of the occupation of industrial buildings are found in Tijuana, Ciudad Juárez, Ciudad de México and Monterrey; the latter is the one that registered the most growth during the last year, with a 30% market share, he added.

The largest occupation registered at the country level was in the automotive, logistics and electronics sectors, in line with the growth trends of electronic commerce, as well as the future of mobility and entertainment in the industry, Argüelles pointed out.
Likewise, given the new conditions in the industrial sector, the manager stated that part of the most important challenges that will be assumed in the coming months will be to have competitive infrastructure and support for the parks, mainly in terms of water and energy.
Giving certainty to investments, promoting Mexico on international stages, ensuring development and training in digital matters, and encouraging the operation of a clean industry are the main axes to be developed.

Argüelles promised to intensify the work of AMPIP with the aim of positioning it as a strategic pillar for the economic development of Mexico, supporting its members within a framework of agility, resilience and competitiveness.
For 2022, another of the main challenges will be to give a new impetus to the relationship with the public administration with support for actions that benefit the industrial sector, via recommendations to companies.
"As the consultative body that we are, we promote best practices so that the industry remains in evolution and competitive in the face of the new characteristics of the internal and external market", affirmed the leader of the industrial parks sector.
