A survey by the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) recorded an increase of 2.5 points in the intention to purchase a home by the right holders, in the second quarter of 2021.
The ‘Home and Credit Needs Survey’ registered an increase of 2.5 points in the “Index of Housing Acquisition Intent”, to stand at 36.7 points, compared to the previous quarter.
The foregoing is consistent with the expectations that workers have regarding their job stability and the improvement in their family economy and the country, the institute said in a statement.

“So they consider that it is a good time to buy their house. The most interested are the workers who earn between three and five times the minimum wage ”.
The monthly income component with a value of 58.8 points stood out, which, with an increase of 18.9 points, reflects the confidence that workers have about their economic stability and the improvement in their income compared to last year.
In line with the above, the survey revealed that the intention to apply for a loan for the acquisition of a house or land is maintained, compared to the first quarter of this year.

Thus, 47.6% of those surveyed indicated their intention to acquire mortgage financing and 46.1% to purchase a lot with services.
For the acquisition of land, Infonavit is preparing a financing scheme for this modality that will be available at the end of 2021, as part of the Reform to the Infonavit Law
Likewise, 50.6% of those surveyed expressed an interest in requesting a loan to build on their own land; that can be achieved through the ‘ConstruYO Infonavit’ program.
